Hi. Having been absent for a while, the Sun has finally come out of hibernation and brought a lot of us out with it! What a tonic.
Last evening (25th Feb 2012) I consider that I was fortunate enough to witness a fantastic event. There was a beautiful crescent Moon with Venus sitting just off the bottom limb of the moon, and a pass of the I.S.S. was due. This always excites me, as I have never lost my boyhood habit of looking into the skies whenever I hear an aircraft. These days I look and wonder where the passengers are off to. Is it a business trip? Holiday makers? People visiting relatives? Happiness, sadness, all sorts of emotions on board I suspect. Perhaps even the butternut squash that Chris will make us a soup out of. Keep dreaming.
Back to the I.S.S.and it never disappoints. Yesterday was better than ever, as the skies were crystal clear after a fine day and she arrived on cue, right between the Moon and Venus, tracked across the skies with her seven crew on board and into Orion where she carried on invisible to us as she had entered the Earth's shadow once more.
Such wonders, such beauty and it's free to us.
Have a good day.
